About Reedsy

Currently, I am running a lot of my editing projects through Reedsy. Here's a little information on the benefits of using this widely respected site for authors and publishing professionals.

My Experience with Reedsy

Authors and others looking for professional services in the publishing industry often discover Reedsy quickly. Reedsy’s size and reputation mean the site is very prominent in search results and is widely mentioned across various blogs and vlogs that cover the industry.

People seeking services then discover why the site is so popular and well-regarded. Anyone appearing as a freelancer on Reedsy must be highly trained and experienced, and they must pass a rigorous initial assessment. Potential clients can be assured of the quality of work they will receive.

This professionalism also comes through when working as a freelancer. Reedsy has a very smooth and streamlined process that allows clients and professionals to find each other. This helps to ensure consistency for freelancers, as well as removing the need to search for clients in various digital locations.

While this has also been my personal experience, there is more to my Reedsy journey than simply convenience and reliability. I have had the opportunity to work with authors from diverse and fascinating backgrounds and to edit their equally diverse and fascinating books. Many of the books have been excellent novels in the thriller/spy novel genre that I often work in, and other genres, such as horror, have been so much fun to work with. I love books first, and genres second.

I get to meet amazing authors on Reedsy

1.1. 26

As one of the biggest and most reputable marketplaces for author services worldwide, Reedsy provides an opportunity for me to meet a wonderfully diverse variety of authors as part of my editing work. From parents helping their teenager to polish their first-ever novel, to people who have recently retired from fascinating careers, I love hearing about author journeys and different backgrounds. I work with a lot of new authors, from whom the publishing world seems daunting, as well as established authors who contact me to edit books I was already aware of, as they are popular and just getting another proofread.

One author I have enjoyed working with recently is Sandy Vora. I edited his book, The Mumbai Directive. This is Sandy's Bio:

A former employee of the U.S. Department of Defense, he spent more than a decade in Washington, D.C., working on the development and deployment of advanced defense and intelligence technologies, including assignments around the world. His real-world experience adds captivating authenticity to his books.

Having read the full book as part of the edit (obviously!), I can attest to the fact that there is a great deal of authenticity throughout the pages. I have also been helping Sandy to navigate the world of self-publishing. Out of a successful, decades-long career and into a completely new professional environment, Sandy has followed the same route as a lot of authors into a new beginning.
